  - download NetBeans the OS indepent zip version,[[http://netbeans.org/downloads/index.html|link]]
  - make sure you have JDK zip or installed [[http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/index.html|link]]
  - cd to the folder, run <code>./bin/netbeans --jdkhome /yourFolder/java/jdk1.6/</code>
